Hi, my name is Kaddy! I'm originally from Philly, and I'm currently a sophomore at Duke studying civil engineering. On campus, I'm involved in Outdoor Adventures, Engineering Student Government, Duke Engineers for International Development, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. In my free time, I like to play tennis, sew, and explore Durham! I was also admitted to Penn, Brown, Barnard, and Penn State on a full-ride scholarship, so I remember how difficult it was making a decision just a few years ago. Happy to answer any questions about my college experience or the decision process as a whole. From roommate conflicts to culture shocks, my transition to college has not been the easiest. But I have been able to forge so many great relationships and memories, all while learning more about myself as a person.

Favorite class

Every first year at Duke has to take a writing seminar. These are small, discussion-based classes centered around niche topics, ranging from Dolly Parton to Radical Magic. My writing 120 seminar "Subtle Asian Traits" pleasantly surprised me; it taught me a lot about what it means to "be Asian" in the western world and how history has influenced racial stereotypes and dynamics.

Career goals

I hope to move to a city after graduating with a stable career that advances sustainable infrastructure or affordable housing for the good of society.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I usually like to hang out with my friends, whether it's going out to a party or staying in and watching a movie or playing a game.
