Hello! I'm currently in my second year at UCLA and am majoring in Neuroscience. My long-term goal is to attend medical school and eventually become a neurologist. I also would love to participate in research regarding strokes and rehabilitation. Some fun facts about me are: - I'm EMT-certified and took the UCLA EMT course! - I'm a huge Dodgers fan. I'm not at all athletic, but if I were to play a position, I would love to be a pitcher. My favorite Dodger is Klayton Kershaw, and my favorite MLB pitcher is Max Fried. - My guilty pleasure TV shows are Suits, Brooklynn 99, Peaky Blinders ... and My Little Pony. - I've been volunteering with my local hospital's Stroke Department since it was established and I was around 10 years old. - UCLA was, and still is, my dream school <3

Clubs, organizations & involvement

I currently work at the Daily Bruin as a proofer, where I correct newspaper stories before they are published. I also currently volunteer at my local hospital's Stroke Department, where I help teach my community about how to prevent and deal with strokes! In high school, I used to work as the Editor-in-Chief of my high school's yearbook, where I trained staff how to write journalistic stories.

Describe your college experience

Transitioning to college was expectedly rough in the beginning. However, I met so many wonderful people on campus and involved myself in such welcoming communities that homesickness didn't hit as hard as I thought. The jump from high school to college is going to be difficult, but it won't stay that way forever. By winter quarter, I was thriving in my new environment.

Tip for future students

My biggest tip for incoming students is to be social. This doesn't exactly mean going out all the time or participating in every school activity, but rather just being open to meeting new people wherever you go. Asking to discuss your answer with the guy next to you in the lecture hall or complimenting the girl's shoes at the Westwood Target may lead to you landing a new friend. The support that you get from people on campus will carry you through the year, especially when hometown support is far away.

Favorite class

Of the classes I've taken so far, I have two favorites, which are loved for different reasons. My first favorite class is LS7C - Human Biology and Physiology. While a controversial take among Life Science students at UCLA, I loved 7C because the content was super interesting and engaging! I love learning about human physiology and I was engrossed with every lesson. My second favorite class was Cluster M71 - Biotechnology and Society. This class was incredibly interesting, but my favorite part about it is its focus in student collaboration. I met my closest friends through this class despite all of us thinking we would never speak again after the first quarter ended. If you have the chance, I encourage everyone to take a Cluster!

Career goals

My short-term goals are to work in a healthcare setting as an EMT or a similar position after I graduate. I also want to be involved in research regarding strokes and other healthcare issues with the brain! My long-term goal is to attend medical school and eventually become a neurologist.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My favorite thing to do when I have free time is go on a walk with my music blasting. If my friends are free, we'll often gather and get food/matcha somewhere in LA (my favorite is Rōk in K-town). On the weekends, I'll often go out to one of the local bands' shows or play Mario Kart with my friends in their dorms. If I'm not doing those things, you can count on me to order a pizza from one of the late-night dining halls and play guitar on my floor while eating.

High school or secondary school

For high school, I attended California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley in Duarte, California. This was an arts high school for those in Los Angeles County! I also dual-enrolled at Citrus Community College in Glendora, CA.
