Cheerful public health major who understands the needs of a college student!
Hi! I’m Camira, a sophomore on the pre-PA track with a major in Public Health. I’ve lived in New Jersey most of my life so Rutgers isnt shy of a second home to me! You’ll usually find me in one of the many different libraries located here on campus or out at a new event with my wonderful friends. I’d be happy to show you around campus and show all of my little tips and tricks to navigating you’re time here as a scarlet knight!

Describe your college experience
Transitioning to college was definetely a big step for me as a first-generation college student. I didnt have the network and insights that a lot of students had going into university. As big as Rutgers is it was definetly hard to find my footing but I'm loving it so far. I like the amount of freedom and independence you gain as a college student. I believe Rutgers also has a wide variety of resources thatb can really help your transition which I appreciate and use to my advantage all the time.
Tip for future students
Most colleges/universities have a lot of resources that a lot of students may not know about because they arent checking their emails or checking the school websites. I think its really important to do that because you might be introduced to an opportunity you wouldve known about. Another tip is to put yourself out there even if you're afraid. I believe theres no harm in trying and even if you fail or get rejected the least you can do is say you tried.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been General Biology I because biology has always been one of my faovrite subjects and I loved learning the new material. Ontop of that my professor was amazing and taught in a way that was very easy to understand.
