I am currently a sophomore at Rutgers University New Brunswick. I am majoring in Sociology and I plan on joining the Graduate School of Education to become an elementary school teacher. I am also involved in Greek life as well as volunteer work.

I am a member of the sorority Gamma Phi Beta and currently the Standards Chairwoman. I volunteer at an elementary school in my hometown.

Describe your college experience

My first semester freshman year was a hard transition for me, however, once I joined my sorority, I began to love Rutgers. Joining my sorority made Rutgers seems a lot smaller and it helped me feel supported and a part of a community.

Tip for future students

I wish I had known that most people struggle first semester. Once I began talking to others second semester I realized I had not been alone with my struggles.

Favorite class

My favorite class was Deviance in Sociology. It was so interesting and my professor made his lectures engaging. These lectures were interactive and always related to real world situations which I found to be very helpful.

Career goals

I hope to become an elementary school teacher and eventually to get re-certified to work with special education students.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night would be to see my friends and hang out with all of them. We would play card games or just talk in general.
