Hi! I’m Samira, I’m a student at gwu and I’m eager to help prospective students and parents get the low-down on what life here in DC is like. As someone from a small town, I get how the move can be a big change, which is why I want to encourage you to visit! Even just spending time on campus helped me know for sure that this was the school for me, and I’d be more than grateful if I could help someone else with their journey. Describe your college experience

It’s been very fun and busy. The school and the city keep you on your toes, but for me that just makes the experience all the more invigorating.

Tip for future students

Try not to stress too much! A lot of the things that worry you are mostly just in your head.

Intro to sociology is very interesting, there’s a lot of in-depth reasons behind a lot of things that most people don’t always notice or realize.

Get certifications in my hobbies, travel, work.

Mount Vernon is kind of like my home base, but coming from the countryside, it’s really nice to see the nature again after long days in the city.
