Hi! I'm Brady, a rising junior at MIT double majoring in Math (Course 18) and Finance (Course 15-3). Outside of the classroom, I am a member of the MIT Football Team, Venture Capital Club, Sigma Chi Fraternity, taught in Italy through MIT's GTL Program, and have conducted paid research through MIT Sloan. Describe your college experience

My experience at MIT has been very positive. There are so many different groups and people on campus that it is fairly easy to find interesting peers with similar interests. Academics are very rigorous, however, first semester of Freshman Year being on pass no record (PNR) makes the transition much easier, especially as someone from a rural public high school. The professional opportunities at MIT are also unmatched, making my decision to go to MIT the right choice.

Tip for future students

Talk to people older and more experienced than you. This applies in both school and professionally. As a younger MIT student, ask everyone about their experiences in different majors, classes, and organizations. The earlier and the greater amount of information you can gather, the better as it will save you time and energy down the line and optimize your outcomes. As you get a little older at MIT and start recruiting for internships. The older MIT people and alums are your best friend. Talk to everyone remotely related to MIT working at companies or in industries that you could be interested in. By going to MIT (or any other top school), everyone already knows you are smart and what sets you apart is your interactions and connections with people, not whether you have a 5.0 or a 4.8 GPA.

Favorite class

Mergers, Acquisitions, and Private Equity (15.445) - This class was phenomenal as it provided so much useful information for anyone wishing to pursue a career in financial services. The professor, Egor Mateyev, gave challenging but rewarding assignments, allowing me to learn so much about the intricacies of the buying and selling of companies.

Career goals

I want to be a primary buyout investor at a private equity or event driven fund.
