Hi, I'm Tiba! I'm an International Business student at the George Washington University School of Business. I speak Farsi and English (and understand a little Turkish), so I love connecting with people from all kinds of backgrounds. I care deeply about working toward global impact, which is a big part of what drew me to GW and DC. Outside of class, you'll find me swimming, running, painting, or behind a camera doing photography. Describe your college experience
My path to college wasn't the traditional one. I started by earning my GED, then built my foundation at Montgomery College, where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA as a Renaissance Scholars honors student. Along the way I got involved as an SGA Senator, VP of the Tennis Club, and a staff writer for the campus paper, experiences that taught me how much I love being part of a community. Transferring to the George Washington University School of Business feels like the natural next step, and I'm excited to dive into International Business, explore everything DC has to offer, and keep growing both academically and personally.
Tip for future students
Stay hustling and never give up, keep showing up, keep pushing, and trust that every small step adds up.
Favorite class
Environmental Biology, because we were able to go on field trips and get hands- on experience

I am genuinely passionate about working in the World Bank Group, and other organizations that focus on global growth.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I really enjoy spending time with friends exploring DC, but I also value my quieter moments, sometimes I'd rather get in a good workout or curl up with a book.

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on campus is the library. I love that it has several floors, each with a different purpose, so I can pick whatever fits my mood or task. Some floors are perfect for quiet, focused studying, while others are great for collaborating with classmates or just taking a break. Having that variety all in one place makes it easy to stay productive.
