Virginia Tech
Arts and Activities Advisor
Hi, I'm Divya! I'm a third-year student at Virginia Tech studying Creative Technologies in the School of Visual Arts. Freshman year, I lived in the Creativity and Innovation District in the Rhizome Living Learning Community. I'm involved in extracurriculars on campus such as DJing on WUVT 90.7 FM, the student-run radio station, working as a Graphic Designer for VT Rec Sports and running PR as a sister for the Asian Interest sorority aKDPhi. I'd love to assist you in your college journey and show you all the nooks and crannies I love dearly at Virginia Tech! I enjoy being involved on campus and can help you get to know all of the happenings that campus has to offer.

Describe your college experience
My transition to college and my experience so far has been exciting and rocky. Connecting with people from various backgrounds on campus has been intriguing and meeting like-minded people through my major has been fulfilling.
Tip for future students
An important thing to know when entering college is continue making friends and finding your community beyond the first people you meet or your roommates. There are diverse communities and people that you can meet if you continue putting yourself out there. You make many friends freshman year and it's important to keep the ones that make you feel like you belong.
Favorite class
My favorite class I've taken at Virginia Tech is Intro to Creative Writing with Professor Aileen Murphy. This class reintroduced me to my love of writing and encouraged me to pick up a Creative Writing minor!
Career goals
After college, I plan on completing my MFA in Graphic Design.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night varies from weekend to weekend. I enjoy spending time with my friends whether that be playing board games, karaoke nights, or going down to the Milk Parlor to listen to live music.
