Describe your college experience
My transition has been rather smooth. As a freshman, I lived on the Newton campus, which meant that I had to commute via a ten-minute bus ride everyday. However, this small campus of freshmen because a tight-knit community, and I've found my best friends in my hall. The break from main campus really help with my transition to Boston College as well as the welcoming atmosphere!
Tip for future students
Something I wish I knew befores starting at Boston College, or just any college, is that the experience is new for everyone. Everyone's very nervous and new to the community, so be confident! (Even if you got to fake it till you make it!)
Favorite class
My favorite class has been the Educational Conversation. It is my first class for one of my majors, Transformative Education. The course hones in on philosophical texts written from professors and philosophers in higher education, or those who see a problem with the system. In class, we critique the writings as well as speak about the timelessness of the pieces. Our discussion sheds light on what our current education system needs, as well as solutions.
Career goals
After college, I hope to pursue my masters in Mental Health Counseling, or Social Work. I hope to work for the government, state or national, in fields like child protection, or as a high school counselor.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend my free nights are to spend time with friends for a bit, but then have a slow wind down later in the night with self-care, movies, and ambient lights.
