A striving Marine Science Major excited to introduce you to his home!

Hi, my name is Nathaniel Bowers, a freshman here majoring in marine science. I moved here from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and am excited to teach about the place I now call home! I chose to become a tour guide for this university because I want other future students to know all this wonderful school offers and to try and sway your decision even in the slightest to come and join this great school where you will come to enjoy your next couple years in school as well as masterfully preparing you for your future. Overall, I'm so glad to be touring you all and I hope you see around here at Coastal Carolina University!

Describe your college experience

When moving in, the transition was made very smooth and enjoyable by the move-in crew, welcoming me with enthusiasm and providing help whenever needed. Following the initial move-in, all students and peers did a plethora of activities to help get involved in different school organizations. The school also has so many resources to help students settle in, help with the transition, and overall support the students needs be met.

Tip for future students

If I were to give any tip to a future student, it would definitely be take advantage of what the school offers you. There is so many opportunities and resources the school provides for you, all of which are included in your tuition. I would take advantage of these things to get the most worth of your time and also use them to help with your future and career.

Favorite class

My favorite class so far at Coastal Carolina University has been my Public Speaking Class as my professor is teaching me skills which help me not just with presentations in school but also interviews. I also believe he provides plenty of opportunity to grow confidence in a variety of areas.

Career goals

After college, I would like to involve myself in a organization that prioritizes the conversation of Marine Ecosystems as I believe the ocean is a beautiful thing and I want to see both the wildlife and organizations thrive as they were created to do.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Depending on the day of the week, I'll first go to the gym no matter what, then I'll grab dinner and either hang out with my friends or spend my night doing some homework and then taking it easy for the night.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus has to be prince lawn because it's where I first became involved in the schools organizations and where I met many of my friends. They always have something to do there and provides for a great place to hang out and even do your homework. It provides a vibrant, bright atmosphere that I find myself encapsulated by.
