A senior at The George Washington University, open to questions and tours

Hi there! I'm Raphi, a current senior at The George Washington University pursuing a double-major in Political Science and Peace Studies. I grew up in Torrance, California where I previously served as a Torrance Police Board Member, and as state president of the students' political action committee. GW has opened incredible opportunities for me. I've logged time in the United States Senate, the California Department of Justice, and completed national security work in Santiago, Chile. My background prior to GW was in the shadowy, but essential machinery of student politics, which taught me through winning and losing, the value of a serving heart and a desire to learn. Friends describe me as disciplined, theatrical, charming, and fiercely loyal. I don't claim to have everything figured out, but I try to approach every opportunity with gratitude, an eagerness to learn - a philosophy that has made my time at G-Dub unforgettable every step of the way.

Describe your college experience

It was challenging. I lived in a single dorm that stood one block away from the White House but 5,000 miles away from the people and places I loved. Slowly, I was able to make the adjustment and build relationships that have shaped my college experience.

Tip for future students

Keep an open mind, be a friend to those who need one, and if the opportunity presents itself, study abroad!

Favorite class

"Issues in Public Policy: Employment and Retirement." My favorite course precisely because it sat perfectly on the nexus of finance, government, and the law.

Career goals

I hope to further my passion for public service in a place that allows me to make the most meaningful difference.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is to take a jog, get ice cream, and then play a board game with my friends.
