Describe your college experience

Purdue is close to my home and many of my friends came here. The transition was fairly easy over it came with its difficulties. Purdue is a large campus and learning the environment and finding classrooms was challenging. It can be hard to make friends, but as long as you put yourself out there and make an effort, it is possible. I loved the dining halls, intramural sports, and the student organizations Purdue has to offer. Purdue always feels safe and a place where I can develop who I am along with other individuals similar to me. There is also a wide variety of events and activities that happen throughout the year which is very fun!

Tip for future students

One thing I wish I knew is that, you do have time and it’s okay to be overwhelmed and not know what you want to do. It is also completely normal to not have yourself figured out. Friends, self growth, hard classes, is all normal and there is no need to worry about your future career when you are this young. I suggest taking very opportunity, meet new people, and put yourself out of your comfort zone. College is a time to make mistakes, have fun, and work hard.

Favorite class

My favorite class was Intercultural Communication because I was able to learn about a variety of cultures and how their culture shapes communication. The impact and forms of communication is endless and varies for everyone. I really enjoyed learning the different ways and reasons people interact and communicate with one another.

Career goals

I hope to work in event management. I have had multiple internships simply just by emailing companies. Reaching out never hurts.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I love going to concerts hosted by Purdue, grabbing food at some near by restaurants, or hanging with friends either playing a sport or sharing a meal together. I also enjoy going on walks in the evenings and watching movies in my dorm/apartment!

High school or secondary school

Rossville Middle High School

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite place on campus is the Hisse Library in Stewart or the red chairs that look out of WALC. Both are a great place to study, quiet, and relaxing. You can have a snack and just enjoy the area as you get work done. Both are near the Union which makes it a good place to grab a quick bite!
