University of Michigan Pre-Med & Greek Life Student
Hi! I'm a neuroscience major on the pre-med track at the University of Michigan and an active member of Greek life. I'm also an out-of-state student from the Washington, DC area, so I know what it's like to make the transition to Michigan. My whole family went to U-M, so I've been coming to Ann Arbor for years and have a unique perspective on both student life and the traditions that make Michigan special. Whether you have questions about academics, Greek life, housing, campus culture, or what it's really like to be an out-of-state student, I'd love to help you get a genuine feel for Michigan!

Describe your college experience
Coming to Michigan was a huge adjustment for me. I came from a very small private high school where I knew everyone, so going to a large university with over 50,000 students was definitely overwhelming at first. It took some time to find my place, but getting involved in Greek life, meeting new people, and finding a routine made Ann Arbor start to feel like home. Looking back, the transition was challenging, but it's also helped me become much more independent and confident.
Tip for future students
The biggest thing I wish I knew is just how different college is from high school. You'll have a lot more freedom, but with that comes the responsibility of managing your own time. The hardest part isn't necessarily the classes it's finding a balance between academics, friends, clubs, and taking care of yourself. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there because everyone is looking to make friends during those first few weeks and after that time period things solidify so definitely take advantage of it.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been Molecular Biology (BIO 172) because I love understanding how life works at the cellular and molecular level. It's fascinating to learn how tiny processes inside our cells affect everything from health and disease to how our bodies function every day.
Career goals
After college, I hope to attend medical school and become a physician. I'm passionate about science and helping people, and I'm excited to pursue a career where I can make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night is finishing up my work, grabbing dinner at Mama Satto with my friends, getting ready together, and then going out in Ann Arbor. It's the perfect balance of being productive and having fun with the people I've met at Michigan.

Favorite spot on campus
One of my favorite spots on campus is the Dana Building. It's a beautiful place to study, and I love the natural light and peaceful atmosphere. If I'm looking for coffee or somewhere to relax with friends, Misfit Society is another favorite because it's a great place to hang out and get work done.
