Describe your college experience

I moved here from across the country and have felt so welcome, not only in every organization I have been a part of, but with the entire campus community. Everyone here is accepting and incredibly kind, and the strong focus on science that this school has has made this an amazing academic experience.

Tip for future students

I recommend going out and meeting as many people as you can! College is what you make of it, and people here want to be your friend!

Favorite class

So far, Natural Illustrations has been my favorite class. It has been an amazing way to exercise my creativity and practice my drawing skills, while maintaining a scientific focus in my academics. It has taught me new techniques to use in my art, and given me a better understanding of the world around me.

Career goals

I want to be a Pharmacologist, which is a researcher who develops and studies drugs and medicines. This career field requires an additional master's degree.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My favorite way to spend a night at UCSC is going downtown with my friends, hanging out on Cowell Beach, and going to eat pho at my favorite restaurant, Betty's Noodles, before catching a late movie at the Santa Cruz Cinema.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot is the McHenry Library. This library has one of the best cafes on campus inside, and is surrounded by the beautiful forest that makes our campus so unique. Me and my friends love to reserve one of the private rooms in the library to study and hang out together, and we spent just about every day of finals week last quarter holed up in McHenry.
