Describe your college experience

My transition to college was a bit untraditional because I started as a PaCE student, which meant my first 60 credits or at least my first year would be completely online. Even though my classes were virtual, I decided to move to Gainesville from the beginning of my freshman year, and I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Since my classes were online, I had more flexibility and extra time to get involved right away during my freshman year, which helped me adjust faster. The first couple of months were definitely an adjustment, but after that first semester I knew Gainesville was my home. It has truly been the best 4 years since!

Tip for future students

The number one thing I always tell my tour guests is to get involved. I know it sounds cliché, but it truly makes all the difference, especially at a big school like UF. My advice is to start with just one or two clubs or organizations at first. One of the biggest lessons in college is learning how to balance your new life and your commitments. From just those first few involvements, you can meet people you connect with, who introduce you to more opportunities and friends, and help you build your own community.

Favorite class

My favorite classes have been my international business classes at the undergraduate level and masters. I love getting to know about different cultures and learning about their history and why customs and practices are the way they are. My study abroad experience really opened up my eyes to my love for travel.

Career goals

I have accepted a position as a Project Engineer at Moss & Associates after graduation. I will be working for their Solar Preconstruction department on the Early-Stage team. My role is basically to project manage everything about a solar site before we actually go break ground on the project.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is cooking dinner with my roommates and watching Dancing with the Stars or whatever else show we are watching that week!
