Describe your college experience

My experience so far has been extremely rewarding. Academically, I have loved diving into core economic theories, corporate finance, and accounting, applying what I learn through practical class projects and finance certifications. Beyond academics, collaborative team projects has helped me develop strong teamwork and leadership skills. Overall, my time at UCSD has helped me gain clarity on my career goals in finance while fostering an environment where I am constantly challenged to learn and grow.

Tip for future students

The best piece of advice I can offer future students is to establish a personal organization system right from week one. Deadlines approach quickly if you do not track them proactively. I also recommend focusing on self-directed learning because university courses move much faster than high school. Finally, prioritize two or three meaningful experiences, whether a campus job, volunteer work, or project, allows you to build skills and connections.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been Managing Diverse Teams. As a Business Economics major, I enjoyed learning how effective communication, inclusion, and strategic collaboration make teams thrive. It not only strengthened my teamwork skills but also taught me how to connect with people from different backgrounds, which is a mindset I’m eager to bring to prospective students on tours.

Career goals

After college, my goal is to launch a career in corporate finance. I hope to apply my background in business economics, corporate valuation, and accounting to help organizations evaluate strategic growth opportunities, model financial performance, and make data-driven capital allocation decisions.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is delicious dinner at home and watching a favorite movie. Going for a calm evening walk outside is also the perfect way to reflect on the week and recharge.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite place on campus is the Geisel Library. It offers a tranquil space to focus on challenging coursework. The windows offer panoramic views of the entire campus and the surrounding landscape. It creates an inspiring setting where you can look out over UCSD between study sessions, take a quick breath, and instantly feel refreshed and ready to jump back into your work.
