Describe your college experience

Coming into UCSC as a freshman, I met a lot of cool people from diverse backgrounds who helped make my college experience very memorable. Over the two years I have spent at UCSC, I changed my academic path as I learned new things and eventually decided to pursue two majors. As a sophomore at UCSC, I enjoyed living in an on-campus apartment and getting more in depth with my education.

Tip for future students

Research which college you align with the best, and look at a map to see what parts of campus you want to be closest to (bus stops, classes, gym, fields, meadows, etc). Meet as many people as you can from your college and try to meet some people from across campus as well.

Favorite class

It is extremely hard to pick just one favorite class at UCSC because I have had so many awesome classes. If I had to pick one, I would probably pick a Community Studies class I took called Making California, which analyzed the social history of California over the last 100 years. It was a very fulfilling class because it was delivered entirely in a discussion format, which allowed me to discuss in depth with my classmates about texts and topics.

Career goals

After college I would like to pursue law school, but I would most likely look to take a gap year after my undergraduate and try to work as an intern in something related to the environment or law.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I enjoy playing basketball with friends, watching sports, going on bike rides, watching the sunset at the beach, and playing board games with friends.
