Describe your college experience
I was very nervous about going off to college and being away from my family, and UCSB was pretty much the only school I was accepted to. When I moved in my freshman year, though, I quickly realized how lucky I was to be in such an amazing place. I found great professors and advisors looking to help me succeed and made lifelong friends. We really embody the "work hard, play hard" attitude our school is known for.
Tip for future students
Keep an open mind and be prepared to change. College is a very formative time and it's important to try new things so you can make the most of it!
Favorite class
HIST 201E -- Graduate Seminar in Ancient Roman Historiography. I got to take a graduate seminar as a 2nd-year undergraduate because of the connections I made with a professor in my department. It was a very difficult class, but I had so much fun and seriously improved my analytical and writing abilities.
Career goals
I plan to attend law school!
Ideal way to spend a free night
Going out to dinner with friends and wandering around downtown
High school or secondary school
Santiago High School (Corona, CA)
Favorite spot on campus
Campus Point Beach in the morning --- I usually have the whole beach to myself and I love looking for shells and taking a quick dip in the ocean.
Meeting point
Base of Storke Tower on the University of California, Santa Barbara campus
