Spartan Senior Sports Savant who loves the Green and White like it's family
Hi! I'm James but you can call me Jimmy. I am a Senior at Michigan State who has loved this university since I was born. Years of football gamedays, walks through campus, and maybe a trip to El Azteco or two with my dad engrained a love for this place that I would never shake. I came to MSU from a small private school in Metro-Detroit, knowing it would be few steps up in size. After three of the best years of my life, I wouldn't change a thing. When I'm not losing my voice in the Izzone, or skating at Munn Ice Arena for IM hockey, you can find me buried in my work at the Broad College of Business. Although known for having the best Supply Chain Management program in the country (for 15 years running, I might add), I major in Finance. With no declared major until my Sophomore spring semester, I can say it is true that you have more time than you think to get your path in place. I'd love to show you the historic landmarks around campus, best dining hall spots, any of the many study locations, and maybe share a "Go Green!" "Go White!" cheer with you. Come with as many questions as you'd like, I'd love nothing more than to share the love for MSU with you.

Describe your college experience
I came to MSU as a kid from a small private school to one of the biggest public universities in the country. Knowing very few people I knew I had to branch out, leading me to join Delta Sigma Pi, the professional fraternity. This is one of many organizations that students can join, which is one of the blessings of a large university, you always have the opportunity to branch out and meet new people. Having experienced dorm life for two years and recently completing my first year living in a house, I can confidently say that living on and around MSU's campus has been amazing. It is a beautiful and very walkable campus. It is bittersweet entering my final year because I have loved my time at MSU so much.
Tip for future students
Branch out, you will find your bubble of friends, whether it be from your high school, or kids you meet on your dorm floor, you can't spend four years only spending time with the people you feel the most comfortable with. Meeting these new people gives you different perspectives, multicultural exposure, and some of your best friends.
Favorite class
FI 355, Financial Modeling. It tested me the most and taught me so much applicable, hands on work in Excel that would have been very difficult to have learned on the fly in a professional setting. It went from being a class I dreaded at the start of the semester, to my favorite class of all time, I realized my dread was because it was testing my knowledge the hardest.
Career goals
I hope to become a financial advisor and work in the Wealth Management industry.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Spending time on my porch at my off-campus house listening to music. My house is my favorite place I have lived, and love spending as much time as I can with my roommates there.
High school or secondary school
Shrine Catholic High School
Favorite spot on campus
Breslin Student Events Center. I love attending, and have attended almost every, MSU Men's basketball game since I have been a student. Being a member of The Izzone is one of the most fun things any student could experience.
