Senior year Acting major
Hi! My names Emma and I would love to help make your move to MSU as comfortable as possible. Moving onto the next stage in life is terrifying but it can be in an exciting, endless possibilities way. I didn't always love my time at MSU I was hesitant at first and my love for MSU grew with my experiences so I promise to give honest feedback to any concerns you may have. I love to act more than anything. when I'm working I'm happiest but when I'm not working I'm baking, partying, doing my makeup, hanging with my pets and friends, painting, or going to the gym, also I'm crazy for Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter

Clubs, organizations & involvement
I was involved in Pearl project an volunteer organization ran by students. They strived to support under welfare families and help them by providing free daycare services. At the bare minimum it was a community of students helping bring a little light into these families hearts when they needed it most but it was so much more than that. Mrs. Pearl would directly reach into these families lives and provide food, housing, support, and even faith. She believes in the healing power of god which helped a lot of the families so far but would never push religion on anyone that didn't want that for their child. There are so many amazing organizations at MSU and finding just one thats right for you really changes your perspective and priorities.

Describe your college experience
When I transitioned into college I had no idea who I wanted to be. I felt completely lost and alone and didn't want to move in. I remember my first day crying in an empty dorm room as soon as my parents left. Since that time I've switched my major, lost some friends, met people who will be in my life forever, started therapy, joined two agencies, and continue to learn and grow in a space where I know I can fall down and keep moving forward.
Tip for future students
I wish I knew that its ok to ask for help. I think its something thats easier said than done and a very cliche statement, but I spent so much time trying to keep up and do things on my own but the second I reached out to friends, family, and sought help from the CAPS services; I felt an immediate shift in my life. It wasn't immediate and its definitely not linier but its change and thats exactly what I needed at that point.
Favorite class
Acting 1 was my favorite class It was the first acting class I took when I first decided to switch my major to the Performing Arts. I was so scared and so insecure and I look back on that time and see how much I've grown into myself, learned, and became that much closer to becoming who I am.
Career goals
I would like to move to NYC for a year with my friend who already lives there. I would like to continue pursuing acting through new agencies, connections, and opportunities. While doing so I'd like to cultivate my personal small business and sell my art. I would also most likely need to pick up another job. After that year I would like to plan on moving out to California with my other friend who's also an actor and stay there for a while while I grow my future.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Ideally I would submit to some casting calls and then bring my hedgehog over to my friends while we bake and play just dance. Maybe even go to the gym if I had time.
High school or secondary school
Stoney Creek High School
Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on Campus is The mini dog park in the Lodges. I would take my dogs from home over there when they visited me and they absolutely loved it. It's so much more spacious than you'd imagine and even has a tube the dogs can run through. I don't see many other people when I'm there so I hope more people start hearing about it so it can be like a real dog park where everyones dogs can interact with eachother.
