Senior Pre-Medical student at GW
Hi! I’m a George Washington University student majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology with a minor in Anatomy. I’m involved in student leadership, volunteering, and research, so I can share an honest perspective on academics, campus life, student organizations, and living in Washington, D.C. I’d love to help prospective students and families get a genuine feel for GW and answer any questions they may have.

Describe your college experience
As I prepare to enter my senior year, I can confidently say that I have had an amazing college experience. My transition to college was a little challenging at first because it was my first time living away from my parents, but I quickly learned how to adjust and become involved on campus. Over the years, I have participated in volunteer organizations, research, leadership opportunities, and cultural clubs. These experiences have helped me build a strong community, grow more independent, and make the most of my time in college.
Tip for future students
My biggest tip for future students is to get involved early and not be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone. Joining organizations, attending campus events, and talking to new people can help you find your community and make college feel much less overwhelming. I also wish I had known that it is completely normal for the transition to take time. You do not have to have everything figured out right away, and asking for help from peers can make a huge difference.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been Human Gross Anatomy because it is taught by professors from GW’s medical school who do an excellent job explaining the material and grading fairly. One of the most valuable parts of the course was having access to medical school resources, including the cadaver lab, which gave me a hands-on learning experience and strengthened my understanding of human anatomy.
Career goals
After college, I plan to attend medical school and continue building on my interests in neuroscience, psychology, and human anatomy. My long-term goal is to become a neurologist so I can help diagnose and treat patients with conditions affecting the brain and nervous system.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I’m more of a homebody, so my ideal free night would be gathering my friends, cooking dinner together, and watching a movie. I also love going to the Georgetown Waterfront, grabbing a snack, and relaxing by the Potomac River while watching the boats pass by.

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite place on campus is the “Vern,” GW’s Mount Vernon Campus. GW provides a shuttle that runs between the Vern and the main Foggy Bottom Campus throughout the day, and many first-year students live or take classes there. I enjoy visiting when I want a break from the hustle and bustle of the main campus. It is a great place to play tennis or soccer, grab a coffee from Buff & Brew, and find a quiet spot to study.
