Describe your college experience

I went to a very small high school, so college was a big change for me. I was excited to be on my own, make new friends, and take classes that really interested and challenged me. Being a part of Tufts' NCAA fencing team has given me a strong network of friends and leadership opportunities. The classes I have taken not only educated me, but I have grown as a person through the teaching staff and material.

Tip for future students

Something I wish I had known when I first came to Tufts was the value of going to General Interest Meetings (GIMs) for the different clubs on campus. They are a great way to meet like minded people and discover new hobbies, passions, and talents. I met some of my current best friends at these GIMs!

Favorite class

My favorite class thus far has definitely been Experiments in Ecology. It is a biology based on groups of students creating their own experiments and presentations. There was a huge emphasis on being curious and working together. We studied bee behavior, foraged for plants on campus, and designed our own experimental questions. I loved being able to spend time outside and be curious with my peers.

Career goals

In the immediate future, I am hoping to continue studying the environment and climate while pursuing my Masters Degree. Beyond that, I want to help people and our planet live in sync with each other. Whether that be from a position of policy, research, or advocacy, I can't wait to find out!

Ideal way to spend a free night

As cliche as it is, my ideal free night is one spent with my friends. We have gotten into the habit of trying new teas from a local shop (MEM Tea) and talking about our days, reading, listening to music, or watching a movie. I like to take that time to relax, wind down, and spend time with the people I care about. We like to joke that we're already grandmas.
