Hi! My name is Isabel, I am from Brooklyn, New York and I am currently a senior at The Ohio State University Main Campus. As a out-of-state student, Morrill Scholar, former Resident Advisor and active member in OSU's educational and extracurricular communities, I have a lot of knowledge and experience to share with prospective students and families. Since my freshman year, I have also held employment with Ohio State Football and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a Recruitment Host Student Ambassador. I am trained to share extensive information regarding the student experience and regularly provide tours, informational sessions and 1:1 guidance to Ohio State visitors. I am currently unavailable to provide in-person campus tours but I would be more than happy to set up a tour date once the Fall semester begins!

Describe your college experience

My experience at Ohio State has been absolutely amazing. I cannot thank this university enough for the incredible opportunities it has given to me. These past few years have flown by so quickly, I can't even believe I am going into my senior year! Reflecting back on my college experience, I could not possibly see myself attending any other school. For a New Yorker who has so much pride for her city, I have truly grown to be a Buckeye and more often than not, refer of Columbus, OH, as my home.

Tip for future students

My biggest tip for incoming students is to try your best to put yourself out there! Ohio State is a large school and at times, it can seem overwhelming. Finding smaller communities within the greater campus area is where you will find your comfort and your home! Talk to people on your dorm floor, make friends in your classes and join random clubs! You never know who you might meet or where you'll find your best friends!

Favorite class

My favorite class that I have taken so far has been Poultry Evaluation and Selection! Before taking this course, I had never even held a live chicken, let alone understood the industrial aspect of poultry processing. Quite honestly, I was even a bit afraid of the birds when the semester started but I quickly grew to love the class and the animals themselves!

Career goals

After college I hope to pursue a career in veterinary medicine and work in the beef industry as a veterinarian or nutrition specialist!
