Describe your college experience
I grew a lot as a person in college. I came in at the age of 16 and a complete introvert, so the imposter syndrome and lack of social skills held back my social life quite a bit. But I grew in confidences, overcame those social challenges, came out as trans, moved out of home, and came to love the community I found. I'm also driven my impact, so activism was a big part of my journey.
Tip for future students
Find what drives you and what fields are most well fitted for that. Consider whether it is difficult getting a job with that major and if waiting for a job is financially possible for you. As for the college experience, put yourself out there. Be weird. Try to make friends and fail. Find people who think you're odd and the ones who love you. Your confidence will grow and you'll find the people who were worth the struggle.
Favorite class
Climate change and emotions with Annie Dwyer. That class made me go vegan and my friend, vegetarian. We both learned so much about ourselves and read a lot of good books for that course. We also both joined 350 Seattle, which Annie is a part of after that class.
