Psychology nerd, proud new Spartan, and always up for an adventure!

Hi! I’m Ryana, an incoming freshman from Byron Center, Michigan, studying psychology. I’ve always been fascinated by the human mind: how we think, why we behave the way we do, and how much our experiences can shape us. My goal is eventually to become a psychologist and help make mental-health care more accessible, especially for people who are often overlooked or underserved. I’m brand new to MSU, so I’m starting this adventure right alongside many of you! I’m incredibly excited to discover campus, make memories, and, of course, learn which MSU squirrel is apparently the campus celebrity. I may not know all the hidden gems yet, but I’m excited to find them, and hopefully share them with you along the way. Ask me anything, and if I don’t know the answer yet, we can figure it out together. Go Green! If you’re also new to MSU, majoring in psychology, or just excited about starting college, I’d genuinely love to connect. Feel free to reach out and tell me what you’re most looking forward to, your favorite study spots, or even just say hi. I’m always down to swap tips, compare class schedules, or meet people who are just as excited (and maybe a little nervous) about this new chapter as I am.

Describe your college experience

Currently, I have only took in two classes that were both summer courses online and they went pretty good for me and in a few days I’m set to dorm and going to start my in person classes in a week and a half. I’m very excited for all of it.

Tip for future students

My biggest tip right now would probably be to do Spartan early start. I think it was a great experience for me and I got me ahead of the game.

Favorite class

The only class I’ve took has been ISS101. It was an English class about pop culture and it was pretty fun doing projects that require me to interview other people.

Career goals

my ultimate goal is to open up a practice as a psychologist and try to help the world out.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Well, if it’s at night, I would love to gather up a group of my friends and have a little movie marathon if we’re not doing anything the next day if we are, I’d probably just go out shopping.

Favorite spot on campus

Again, I haven’t been living at MSU quite yet but from the times I’ve visited on the library has a very nice vibe to it.
