Heyo! My name is Veronica Leinenbach, I’m a junior here at Hofstra studying Psychology with a minor in Political Science what a combo am I right? Anyhow Hofstra is my home away from home and the student body has become my family in a way because I don’t really have anyone else up here. Describe your college experience

I adored how exciting welcome week was as a freshman. Meeting new people and making new friends and connections along with the excitement of a new chapter in your journey is incomparable to any other feeling. I love how convenient campus is and the variety of housing styles that they offer to accommodate personal preferences. There’s something about living in a little community surrounded by friends and familiar faces that truly makes Hofstra feel like home.

Tip for future students

Definitely get a planner especially if your a person that does better with thing being in your face. Personally a whiteboard with the days of the week and little note section has helped me stay on top of things exponentially. There’s an app called “Coursicle” which allows you to upload each classes syllabus into the system. It will then put assignments and quizzes on a calendar for you so you make sure you don’t miss a single thing!

Favorite class

European gothic and horror, it gave me a whole new perspective on not only horror and the way people think, but the world as a whole. It made me see things in an entirely new light, while opening me up to new psychological concepts and further broadening my critical thinking.

Career goals

I would love to open a private practice. The idea of having my own space, being the boss of my own schedule all while interacting with others is my motivation to do my best, and go to class even on the coldest days.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Splitting my time between me and my friends so I don’t drain myself. I don’t care what we do I just enjoy their company and laughter.
