Describe your college experience
My first year was an extremely exploratory year. I slowly joined clubs to allow myself time to adjust to college, especially because the classes were a step up in difficulty. I knew I wanted to join one pre-medical club, an a cappella group, and explore whatever else I wanted to join. I ended up doing such and having a lot of fun! However, I did end up being super busy and started using Google Calendar religiously. I joined things one quarter at a time, which made my last quarter extremely busy, but I had fun! I think that's the most important part. Whatever you join, have fun!
Tip for future students
I always tell incoming freshmen that many things will change over the course of year one, so don't be scared. Additionally, take a lot of time to explore. If you join only one or two clubs your first year, that's fine! In fact, that will probably give you an ideal experience to get used to the academic rigor as well as the friendships, relationships, and connections that will be formed in college. Have fun! Talk to people, especially the first few weeks. These friends may not always stick but connections of connections may lead to the best opportunities or the best friendships! Lastly, don't sacrifice your sleep!!
Favorite class
My favorite class at UCLA has probably been PSYCH 10: Introduction to Psychology. I've never taken a psychology course before, and my professor immediately made the contents super interesting. This course not only taught me valuable medical knowledge but also about real-life scenarios and situations that have occurred in the past that related to psychology. I've always loved stories, history, and science, so this class felt like the perfect combination of everything.
Career goals
I hope to get an M.D. / M.P.H. I want to work as a physician while still learning about the public health aspect about healthcare in the United States, as I want to continue directly impacting the communities I am surrounded by.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I would love to finish a book I started earlier in the summer! My current read is "By Any Other Name" by Jodi Picoult. I would also call my friends and catch up. Lastly, I would finally sleep early.

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on campus is the court of sciences, as I am close to my major's building of Young Hall while still having many amazing study spots. I particularly love the Biochemistry Collaboratory and the Engineering Library in Boelter Hall.
