Pre-med college student

I am a pre-med student hoping to go into either obstetrics and gynecology or anesthesiology! I’m coming into my junior year at CU Boulder, and have had an amazing experience. I’m very academic focused, but I love embracing the culture of CU, whether that be going to football games or participating in clubs and other activities! In my free time, I love hiking, traveling, reading, and being with my friends.

Describe your college experience

My transition to college was difficult in the beginning for me - I came in with an Associate’s degree that I got in high school, so took a lot of higher level classes right off the bat. I’ve adapted since then and know what I need to do to succeed, but it took a lot to get there! Despite this, my college experience has been great. I’ve made amazing friends and feel that I’ve grown a lot with all that the school has to offer.

Tip for future students

I highly recommend asking an advisor for a four year plan right when you start; this way you will have an outline for all of the requirements you need for your degree and you never have to guess when it comes to registering for classes. I also recommend talking to others who come before you - people have amazing tips and advice, and I wish I had been able to talk to a college student from CU before I started. Go into college with the mindset that it will be challenging, but embrace it all as much as you can and try everything!

Favorite class

My favorite class has been General Chemistry 2. The difficulty was definitely up there, but I really enjoyed the content and found everything we learned to be very interesting.

Career goals

After college, I plan to take a year and attend University of Colorado Anschutz and get a Master’s degree in Human Anatomy before going to medical school. I hope to be an obstetrician gynecologist and work in a hospital and open my own clinic someday.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal free night would be spent with my friends or family, where we go get dinner and dessert then just hang out, whether that be with movies or games, or by going out somewhere.
