Describe your college experience
My college experience has been a real period of discovery for me. Madison has all kinds of people and you have a real opportunity to decide the school culture you surround yourself with! Transitioning to college held difficulties as a first-generation low-income student. However, it ultimately proved to be a really affirming moment. Coming to UW-Madison has taught me to create and savour good moments and to temper and handle adversity!
Tip for future students
I’d advise future students to really focus on their academics. College can be a super overwhelming experience and I wish I had considered how permanent and tangible my first semester grades were. Having improved from a 3.06 to 3.875, I can say that a lot of succeeding in college is about learning systems and routines more so than knowing the information!
Favorite class
PS344 has been my favorite class, being able to take a deep dive into a muddied topic with an expert in the field was a really clarifying experience!
Career goals
I hope to pursue a Masters or Law School!
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night would be to head downtown with friends and to see where it goes
High school or secondary school
Canterbury College, The John Wallis Church of England Academy
Favorite spot on campus
The Memorial Union is my favorite spot on campus because it includes both the terrace and rooms for study, the ornate construction & adjacent libraries can make it an amazing atmosphere to both meet friends and work done!
Meeting point
Abraham Lincoln Statue at Bascom Hill
