Describe your college experience
I was definitely nervous going into college because I am the oldest child, so I was the first to move away from home. I also was scared that I had made the wrong choice in school, as I chose UCF over both FSU and UF, something people told me was a bad decision. Once I got to UCF though and acclimated to the campus life, I quickly fell in love with my school! My freshman year, I was part of the marching band on the color guard team which instantly gave me a community of people to connect with. Second semester of freshman year I also decided to join greek life, which gave me a whole new community of incredible friends. I have loved every minute of my time at UCF so far!
Tip for future students
The campus is huge!!! This means it is especially important to find some sort of club, organization, or team to join. This really helps make campus feel a bit smaller and makes creating connections with other people so much easier. Trying to make friends can be daunting in such a crowded school, so joining extracurriculars, at least in my experience, is the best way to help with this.
Favorite class
My favorite class was definitely Financial Accounting, which I took freshman fall. Professor Reinking was the absolute best and he truly cares about his students. He even hosts a luncheon at the end of the semester for any student who earns an A in the class!
Career goals
I hope to pursue a career relating to hospitality and event management. I'm not entirely sure what this will look like yet, but I know that I have a passion for serving others! Ideally, I would like to start my own business within this industry.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night is meeting up with my friends for dinner and a sweet treat before going to the movie theater to watch a new movie!
