Outgoing Criminal Justice major who is very passionate about campus!
Hi!!! My name is Hannah and I am a sophomore at Michigan State University. I am a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Film Studies. I plan on graduating in 2029, and I am currently in Case Hall. MSU has very quickly become my new sanctuary. Words cannot describe how much I love college. It has already been such a great experience with so many great opportunities. There are so many reasons I enjoy it so much, like: the amount of people to meet, the beauty of the campus, the excitement of taking new classes, the ability to become successful, the amount of fun you can have, the different athletic centers, all the wonderful work opportunities, etc. Usually, you will catch me at the new recreational center working out. My dorm is Case hall, which is right next to it. Sometimes you will also catch me studying at the main library and getting some starbucks. And sometimes you will catch me having fun on Grand River! I hope that as your guide, I can make you as excited as I am to be at MSU. Thank you, and good luck!

Describe your college experience
So far, I am absolutely obsessed with college. I literally cannot think of a singular genuine complaint I have. I love how many people I can meet, I love the beauty of the campus, I love all my classes, and I love how fun it is. It is just overall such a beautiful school that brings so many opportunities.
Tip for future students
Don’t be so nervous. It can be a terrifying thing going from high school to college, and it is a huge jump. But it ends up being the most amazing experience ever. Remember that everyone is just as nervous. It’s okay to be scared, but don’t let it affect your time at school.
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been a Hungarian film class I took last semester. I think I enjoyed it so much because I could tell how much my professor genuinely cared about teaching us. I also just loved analyzing all the different films that I had never seen. The class in general had me constantly thinking and learning.
Career goals
After college, I hope to find a job that I enjoy in the criminal justice field. In some other world, I would love to go into film. But I know being in criminal justice will make me more money, and that is important to me. I also still love studying crime just as much. I just hope I find something that satisfies my financial needs as well as my mental needs.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Usually I would start the night with friends or a large group and make my way out to have fun and enjoy the night. Eventually I get pretty tired before everyone else and make my way back home and finish my night in bed with my doggies watching movies.

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot is North campus. Not specifically the dorms area, but the area where you can walk around in the grass. I just think it’s such a beautiful area to study or just go for walks and be able to really enjoy the campus.
