Hello! My name is Mercedes and I’m a current sophomore at MSU. I’m originally from the Grand Haven area, and love to spend my free time doing as many side quests as possible. Originally, MSU wasn’t on my radar for potential universities to pursue. I was incredibly unsure about the sheer size of a Big 10 university, and went into my freshman year with little confidence. After giving the school a shot, I instantly felt at ease, and as if I had found a second home. MSU has given me more opportunities than I could’ve imagined, and I now bleed green and white. Whether you’re a diehard Spartan fan, an incoming student with no expectations, or curious about what might come next, a tour can make all the difference when deciding for your future.

Describe your college experience

Originally considered GVSU, but committed to MSU as a freshman. I’ve loved the sense of community and belonging, as well as the vast diversity of students, clubs, and career opportunities the university has to offer.

Allow yourself to be open minded. Open mindedness can land you unexpected friendships and experiences that could change you for the better.

All advertising focused classes, their content makes me more curious to learn and there are many opportunities outside of class to gain experience in the field.
