Outgoing Accounting student eager to showcase the opportunities Rutgers holds

Hi! I'm Giuliana, a sophomore studying Accounting and minoring in Italian. A fun fact about me is that I'm a twin, and my twin sister also attends Rutgers as an Electrical Engineering major! You can usually catch me taking scenic laps around College Ave or Livingston campus between classes, in the Alex Library basement hidden in the bookshelves, at any pop-up event (as soon as I find out about it, I am on the next bus to the location), or trying to find my car in Yellow Lot. I am more than excited to showcase all Rutgers has to offer, from the underrated study spots, hang-out spots, and tips and tricks on navigating Rutgers campuses as a college student! Bring all your questions; I can't wait to explore with you!

Describe your college experience

Transitioning into college was definitely a good change. Beginning my freshman year, I fell in love with the Rutgers campus and all the opportunities offered. Starting classes was a bit nerve-wracking; however, I never felt uncomfortable in a class. All the professors I have had made me feel deserving of being in a college course, which was a doubt in my mind. As a commuter, it was a bit harder to integrate myself into the "college life" because it felt more like just going to school and coming home. However, I utilized all the events held as a way to get myself out there. Through sporting and late-night events, I formed friendships with various people, which has made me so grateful for the opportunities Rutgers has given me.

Tip for future students

Something I wish someone had told me before starting college was to really put myself out there. People always say to get involved but never truly express how important it is. Getting involved doesn't just mean joining different clubs and organizations, but also just making friendships. It may seem scary to do so, but once you try, it will only be rewarding in the end.

Favorite class

My favorite class I have had so far is Italian Culture. I picked this class randomly to fulfill an SAS requirement, and I ended up falling in love with the Italian department. I am so grateful for Rutgers diverse course selection because I never even envisioned myself interested in another department besides Accounting. If I had never taken this course, I would have never pursued an Italian minor, and that's why I am thankful for the opportunities Rutgers provides students.

Career goals

After college, I hope to work for a firm that allows me to gain exceptional knowledge and experience in the Accounting field while I prepare for my CPA exam!

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is to hang out with my friends, go out for a few hours, and meet new people!

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite place on campus is Alexander Library. This is my favorite spot and also my favorite library because it is so big. Each floor brings a different vibe and motivation when doing assignments. Everyone is always welcoming and helpful when trying to find something or needing assistance. I love doing work on the random tables in the middle of the bookshelves because it provides a different type of privacy that other places do not offer.
