Describe your college experience

Busy! During my time at Columbia, I balanced a demanding workload alongside several internships. I also explored a wide range of clubs and coursework spanning political science with a focus on international relations, film and media, finance and business, and more. This breadth of experience allows me to speak to many different topics and areas of the university. My path to Columbia was a non-traditional one - I began at a small liberal arts college and later attended a community college before ultimately arriving at Columbia. Despite the transition, I hit the ground running and never looked back. I am a firm believer that if you are accepted, the university knows you have what it takes to thrive!

Tip for future students

Favorite class

Among my coursework, I took most of the undergraduate business classes, and even had the chance to take a course on Game of Thrones! I also have a deep fondness for Literature Humanities, a course dedicated to reading some of the most influential works of Western literature. The discussion sections were a highlight, offering the opportunity to analyze and debate these timeless texts alongside peers. These were some of my favorite classes!

Career goals

I am planning to work in the federal government and then to do an MBA after and enter in to high finance.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Hanging out with friends exploring the city or going to a museum in the city and eating food from a food truck.

High school or secondary school

A small public high school in Massachusetts

Previous college

A small liberal arts college in MA. I started at this college but it wasn't a great cultural or social fit for me. I decided to withdraw from the college and transfer. Santa Monica College in CA. I lived in LA for a few years and enrolled in community college to raise my GPA with the goal of transferring to Columbia.

Meeting point

The Sundial on the Columbia University campus
