Describe your college experience
Coming to UCF was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Like many students, I was nervous about starting college and finding my place, but it didn’t take long to make UCF home. I’ve met some of my best friends through being involved on campus, through classes, clubs and work, and they’ve made my college experience so special. I love that there is always something going on here whether it's the football games, campus events, or just hanging out studying at one of our favorite spots. Outside of class, I’ve had amazing opportunities to grow through internships, leadership roles and studying abroad. All of these things have helped me become more confident and more prepared for my future. UCF has provided me so much more than just an education. It has given me friendships for life, memories I will never forget, and a community I am proud to be a part of. I love being a Knight and telling the story of what makes UCF so special to prospective students and their families.
Tip for future students
Don’t feel like you need to have college all figured out. Some of the best parts of my UCF experience came from saying yes to opportunities I never planned for- joining new clubs, taking an internship that pushed me outside my comfort zone, studying abroad, and just talking to people in my classes. UCF is a large campus so it can be overwhelming at first but that is one of its biggest strengths. Everyone finds their own group here. Be open to new experiences, introduce yourself to people and remember that it’s okay if your path looks different from everyone else’s. These are the moments that often become your best memories.
Favorite class
My favorite class at UCF has been Social Media as Mass Communication because it showed me how much strategy goes into the content we see everyday. We explored the impact of social media on culture, branding and communication and I loved learning how companies use different platforms to connect with their audiences. It also gave me hands on skills that I have been able to use in my marketing internships, making the class interesting and practical.
Career goals
After graduation I want to work in sports marketing and advertising ideally with a professional organization like the NFL or NBA. I wasn’t a huge sports fan before coming to UCF but being a part of the game day atmosphere, cheering on the Knights, and the excitement of college athletics made me fall in love with sports. The power of sports to unite people inspired me to pursue a career in which I can develop engaging marketing campaigns and foster that same connection between teams and their fans.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My perfect free night is just hanging out with the people I love. I love making memories with the people around me, whether it’s line dancing with friends, having a movie night, going out to dinner, or even just calling friends to catch up. Sometimes the best nights are the simple ones, relaxing, laughing and enjoying good company after a busy week.
High school or secondary school
I went to Bradenton Christian School in Bradenton, Florida.
