I am a rising Junior studying Biology and Economics at Tufts University. I am interested in getting into the corporate finance world, and have experience working closely with people through my roles on and off-campus from being an Intramural Sports Supervisor, a Food Service Worker and even a Sales Associate, all of which I enjoy deeply. Currently, I am doing a Marketing internship at a newer fin-tech company based on New York City, my home! I am passionate about weightlifting and playing pool with friends. When I am home, I love to spend time with my family and go on long walks.

Describe your college experience

I expected to not make friends in college for at least the first couple months, as I was used to seeing the same 60 girls in my class in high school. I got close with people that went to school near my high school, and did a NYC professional development program called Prep for Prep with me, some girls that lived in my freshman dorm, and even people I met in my classes.

Tip for future students

Looking back I had great memories with all of the friendships I made, but I've learned more specifically to be ok with losing some those connections if I didn't align with them. Overall, I have experienced highs and lows that I didn't before the start of my 4 years here, most of which I had to navigate myself, but with deeper connections and on-campus resources such as the mental-health counselors I can proudly say I don't regret any part of the first half and look forward to the next half! Utilizing our resources is the best decision I made, and I wish I would have known about them sooner.

Favorite class

Medical Spanish was the most engaging class I have taken at Tufts, which facilitated learning complex concepts and technical terms in a fun way. The professor is a full-time medical interpreter and teaches his practice out of his own enjoyment, highlighting how passionate he is about the subject and aspirations to increase awareness of the need for medical interpreters in healthcare settings. His passion and the interesting nature of the class including presentations, translating, and contextual historical readings grew on me.

Career goals

After college I hope to begin a role that gets me into the corporate finance world. I am interested in marketing and consulting as well, so I would be actively open to looking to see what role suits me and my skill set best. Hopefully, I would be living either in Boston or New York City!

Ideal way to spend a free night

I would order a falafel wrap and ginger ale from Kushari's for pickup, take a warm shower in the meantime, go pickup my order, then eat it in bed while watching a basketball game, and then go on a long walk to and around Davis Square with my boyfriend.
