Describe your college experience
My transition into college felt really smooth. I met one of my dorm roommates before hand (from an app called Bunky) and we've been inseparable ever since. I found very quickly that everyone around me in dorms, classes, and around campus are all very welcoming and there is always a place to find community. Balancing community and education was also fairly smooth, since everyone is in the same boat and wants to prioritize their academics while also having a good time.
Tip for future students
Never be afraid to put yourself out there. This school has some of the warmest crowds and groups I've ever met, you will absolutely have no trouble finding a group to spend your years with if you give it a shot. There's something here for everyone!
Favorite class
History of Philosophy! It's a great beginner philosophy class to learn about a wide range of ideas and histories in the field of study to see if you're interested in the topics.
Career goals
I hope to enter a PhD program with my end goal being to become a professor of philosophy at a University.
Ideal way to spend a free night
After I finish up all my work, I like to take it easy at the beginning of a free night. Spending time with friends in the dorm lounges or out by the beach is a great way to cool down from a day of school! After that, I like to base my nights on how everyone else is feeling. I'm always down to watch a movie, play some games, or go see if there's any events going on down the street in Isla Vista (there always is). There's plenty of fun stuff to do around here!
