Hi! My name is Isabella Mastrodomenico, and I am a rising sophomore at Cornell University. I am majoring in chemical engineering and pursuing a business minor for engineers. I am involved in greek life on campus as a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and I am also a member of Cornell's Society for Women in Business.

Describe your college experience

I was nervous at first about the transition to college, but once I got to school and was able to make so many amazing friends, the transition was easy. So far, my experience has been really great, and overall I have enjoyed both my classes and meeting new people.

Tip for future students

One thing I wish I had known about Cornell before starting is the rigor of academic classes. I knew that Cornell classes were known to be hard; however, I did not know the extent of this, so one tip that I'd give is to make sure to build good study habits to ensure success throughout the semester.

Favorite class

My favorite class so far has been Intro to Operations Research, which I took for my intro to engineering requirement. I really enjoyed this class because I thought it was really interesting to learn about different optimization processes, which allowed me to think about problems in creative ways.

Career goals

I hope to pursue a career, possibly in the pharmaceutical industry, either doing hands-on work developing products or on the finance side.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is hanging out with friends, whether it's trying a new restaurant, watching a fun movie, or just spending time together.
