What’s up everyone, my name is Nasrellah (Naz for short) and I just wrapped up my 2nd year here at Cal. I currently study Mechanical Engineering and I’m from Sacramento CA. I’ve also previously lived in Richmond CA so I’m a NorCal Native! I look forward to showing you around campus and answering any and all questions you might have. Couple facts about me: I’m well immersed in Greek life, big car guy, active physically, and familiar with a lot of resources that Berkeley has to offer in both financial, academic areas. Describe your college experience
My transition to college has been amazing. Being an early admitted student I was able to connect with other students early on. I was also part of PREP (Pre-Engineering Program) where I met around 100 students before school even started. Having that opportunity allowed me to feel more comfortable and confident socializing with others on campus. Cultural clubs also allowed me to feel connected with my culture and have a sense of belonging at a huge public institution.
Tip for future students
Socialize! Don’t be shy or scared! Everyone wants to make friends! You will only benefit from knowing more and more people.
Favorite class
My favorite class has to be E26. It’s an entry MechE course where you learn to CAD (Computer aided design). You learn to create 3d objects and cool objects. You also have a wind turbine project where you compete with others in the class to design the most optimal blade design for energy production. Overall it’s a very social and enjoyable class.
Career goals
I’d like to work in the automotive field, such as Tesla, ford, rivian, Ferrari, etc. I want to manufacture parts for high end automotive companies.
Ideal way to spend a free night
If I’m not out partying, I’ll be exploring the beautiful Bay Area. Cities like SJ and SF are so nearby and great for night outings.
