Hey I'm Dylan! I grew up in the DC area and started at UChicago in 2024. I really love it here but the culture can be an acquired taste. Most of my time goes to Off Off Campus, UChicago's improv and sketch comedy team. I've had some fun internship and research experience in the humanities and performing arts. Also love reading, literary fiction, writing, film, and tv.

Describe your college experience

Started college with a career trek to Los Angeles where I made a lot of the friends I still have 2 years later. I auditioned and joined Off Off Campus, a sketch and improv comedy group that meets for 15 hours a week for the first year, which taught me to manage my time and value the moments I can carve out for fun during school. The UChicago workload always feels manageable because in college, I have so much free time.

Tip for future students

Don't be afraid to spend time on the things you actually want to do, even if it seems like it'll put stress on your school work or other extracurricular. it's okay to be unproductive

Favorite class

Technical Seminar in Creative Writing with Sharon Pomerantz — an excellent professor with an opinion. She would give us a short story and talk about what made it work and why. Changed the way I read.

Career goals

I want to do something in entertainment​/​media development or production but still not decided.
