I'm an Econ and Accounting second year that hopes to pass down my knowledge.

Hi! I'm Lucas a 2nd year studying Economics and Accounting with hopes of pursuing a career in public accounting. In my first year at UCSB I explored many opportunities and made many meaningful connections that I will cherish even past graduation. I personally want to help incoming students feel more comfortable before they start their first day here at UCSB.

Describe your college experience

As an incoming Freshman I moved a decent bit from home without knowing anyone prior to my fall quarter. I quickly found out that UCSB has the most welcoming environment ever, being able to just have a conversation with anyone walking around campus is truly something you can't take for granted. There are so many club/groups to join to even better expand your connections. Personally I made most of my friends through my classes and a business fraternity I had joined. Overall I believe that UCSB has a great welcoming environment for anyone from anywhere.

Tip for future students

The biggest tip I can give for future students is to learn to work Google Calendar. Many people tell you to time manage in college and I have found Google Calendar is the best way I have been able to stay on top of my assignments.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been Dance 45 and Econ 3A, I believe they are a great showcase of what University of California, Santa Barbara has to offer. Whether it's something random as dance appreciation or the intro to the big field of accounting.

Career goals

After college I hope to pursue a career in public accounting at a Big Four firm.

Ideal way to spend a free night

An ideal way for me to spend my free nights are with a bunch of my friends sitting down to enjoy a movie or going out to explore more of Santa Barbara.

Favorite spot on campus

Interactive Learning Pavilion, I believe the design and thought that went into the building really made it a campus favorite whether its the rooms with air conditioning or just the large private bathrooms.
