Hey Im Luke, I study astrophysics here despite being a former business major. I really like sports and fitness, I can offer some training techniques for anyone who wants to learn. I love meeting new people and making friends because theres so much to do in downtown Athens, and having an elite friend group makes everything better. Describe your college experience
So far its been awesome, I immediately joined Rugby Club at UGA and had a large group of friends right out the gate. I have a cool major on a large campus at an accredited school. I get to regularly experience downtown Athens and live the college lifestyle while still getting a great education. Its been everything I dreamed of after coming out of a small town school.
Tip for future students
Join a Club, just find one you think you might be interested in and go, you get quick friendships and maybe a new interest and experiences right away.
Favorite class
ASTR 1120 (Introductory Astronomy for Majors), not only did we get to deal with complex math and advanced physics to explore the universe, we got hands on experience with Python and data entry. It felt cool to learn so much while gaining sweet computer skills to impress my friends and family. Its a very good all around class since we learn about scientific history, modern skills, and astronomy.
Career goals
I want to go into research and engineering, Im looking into some REUs for experience, I hope to join a professional laboratory to help make advancements in the scientific world
Ideal way to spend a free night
Going to hang out with my friends in downtown Athens for a legendary boys night out, or if Im tired I can chill at home to read and relax.
