I am excited to show the on and off campus life at UCSB through engaging talks and walks though our wonderful campus and local college town of Isla Vista. I'm very familiar with the campus layout, where the best food is, best study spots, and overall the general student life here at UCSB!

Clubs, organizations & involvement

Since I am still actively seeking what interests me at UCSB, I have only participated in a few clubs​/​orgs this year, I have been most involved in Sociedad Eterna, a Hispanic based organization that fosters community for all.

Describe your college experience

I enjoy learning new things and I feel like UCSB takes academics very seriously and so do the students, which is so refreshing since many of us can all relate when it comes to studying and such. One of the best things about UCSB is the culture here as a whole, there is always a group or people you can turn to for support. You can never get bored here, since the ocean is right next to us, so hangouts are always fun when academics get tough or whenever we have free time. Our campus hosts events almost daily so whenever classes tire you out, joining in on these events created by students or by the University is a great way to release stress. Overall UCSB is a welcoming place, you just have to get out your comfort zone and explore!

Tip for future students

One of the things I wish I knew about before coming here was to look deeper into clubs and organizations here. Its much less stressful joining a club during first quarter so you can make friends faster and form deeper bonds, but although I did joining later on I was welcomed with open arms and this made a difference in my social life. Also another thing for people like me, who don't enjoy large social gatherings (parties), its ok to say no to going out. Unlike everyone else I didn't know UCSB was a huge party school, and that's ok but again UCSB is very diverse so your not alone.

Favorite class

One of my favorite class so far was my Religious studies class on patriarchy, it was a very interest class that brough social science and history together and it really made me understand how society forms so many types of norms and how it affects our lives everyday.

Career goals

I hope to find a job in marketing or in media of some sort.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Most of the time If I've finished school work early I like to visit IV or downtown SB, since there is so much to see. But when I am studying I frequent the library or study rooms located in our dorms with friends, and sometimes make doughnut runs!

Favorite spot on campus

The arbor walk, that is where all the clubs put their stands up, its so fun to go and se what clubs are organizing since it aways turns into a fun outing with friends later on! Also you can meet so many people there as everyone frequents the area to get a snack or to pass thought ot get to their next class.
