Hi! I'm Arta, and I'm a 4th year ICAM major at UCSD. I find it really hard to not want to try new experiences and activities. My never ending branches of hobbies and interests include but are not limited to: the arts and artmaking, computing, skiing, rock climbing (indoors), and music (especially live music), and a fun fact about me is that I'm a cat dad of two even though I'm allergic, and I have a background in esports (competitive video games) at both varsity and international levels.

Describe your college experience

It was a surprising and refreshing experience, because even with all the expectations I had for college, I never expected to be able to grow to the extent that I have. The most surprising part of it being the fact that I saw most of my growth outside of classes and lecture halls.

Tip for future students

Step outside of your comfort zone at times. It's worth it. It may seem daunting to think of yourself stepping outside your "safe space" or bubble, but by doing so, you prove to yourself that you're more than capable, and that it's easier than it seems! The "Socially Dead" stereotypes are NOT true.

Favorite class

VIS145A, Time & Process Digital Media. Because this class introduced me to new tools and techniques I've never imagined I'll be able to use so easily one day. Almost like a catalyst to my early career decision makings and plans.
