I grew up in San Diego and decided to major in marine biology after petting a baby shark in kindergarten. At UCSC I am involved with the jazz program and a recreational rock climbing club.

Describe your college experience
Over the past two years I have made some amazing friends and met some brilliant professors. While adjusting to college style lectures could be challenging at times, there have been excellent resources through the school to help me succeed.
Tip for future students
In terms of academics, I highly advise incoming students to practice note taking and sign up for tutoring. Outside of academics I highly recommend branching out to other students to make friends and try out any club/extra cuticular activity that perks your interest.
Favorite class
My favorite classes so far have been the chemistry courses and labs because they were challenging yet very hands on and engaging.
Career goals
After college I hope to go into marine conservation or marine veterinary school.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My favorite way to spend a free night is to hang out with my friends with some good snacks and bad horror films.
