Hi, I’m Xander, and I’m currently in my third year at FSU, pursuing a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Advertising and Integrated Marketing. I was born and raised in Tampa, and I come from a Dutch and Italian immigrant family, which has really shaped who I am. Outside of my studies, I love spending my time fishing, cooking, and cheering on the Buccaneers

Describe your college experience

My college experience has been completely different from my life in Tampa. Moving to Tallahassee for FSU gave me a fresh perspective and introduced me to a new environment. I’ve made amazing friends who’ve become like family, and one of my favorite things is having them over to cook and share meals together. It’s been a rewarding transition, balancing academics and social life, while really enjoying all that Tallahassee has to offer

Favorite class

My favorite class so far has been REL3170, a religious ethics and creative writing class. I really enjoyed it because of the professor, who made the material engaging, and it also gave me a chance to explore my passion for writing. It was a great mix of thought-provoking discussions and creative expression.

Career goals

After college, I hope to teach marketing classes at my old high school while also working in real estate. It would be a great way to give back to my community and apply what I've learned. Eventually, my dream is to own a restaurant, which has always been a long-term goal of mine. Balancing these passions is something I look forward to achieving.
