Hello I’m Cristian I’m a second year student at UCSC
I’m a second year student at UCSC I’ve lived in Kresge college res halls and in Crown Merrill apartments during the summer session. I’ve worked three jobs on campus now from our arboretum, to conference services, to our transportation services! If you would like to know how it’s like to truly live as a student on this campus and are interested in the opportunities it brings I’m always free for a chat!

Describe your college experience
I believe my college experience has been greatly beneficial to my growth as a person and navigating as an independent through life. I’ve made many meaningful connections and memories and I don’t regret moving away from home one bit.
Tip for future students
Don’t be so stuck on one field, whether it’s your major whether it’s a specific job that you insist you need. Explore, those things you had those slight thoughts that you may enjoy, try them whether that’s take a class, or it’s taking a job offer for something you’re sort of antsy about doing. I promise pushing yourself out there will open paths for you you’d never think were possible.
Favorite class
My favorite class personally was my Kresge core college course. I feel as if the class truly connected to the discussions, and the professor really let the discussion be led by students, I didn’t feel forced to spend the whole two hour seminar talking about a topic or interest that me or the rest of my group resonated with. Your professors and your connection to the discussion is truly make or break for a successful class.
Career goals
I would love to work in any major agroecology field or plant preservation, as that’s what I spent most of my quarters of my first year doing at the arboretum.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend my nights here would be to explore the nature and paths and student and community made activists around campus with my friends. There are many if you know you know spots around just about every residential college on campus and they’re all worth getting out there.
