Geneva - Tufts Mechanical Engineer
Hi! My name is Geneva. I'm a sophomore at Tufts, studying Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics. I have two jobs at Tufts; I'm part of Tufts Admissions Tour Guides and I work for the LGBT Center. Outside of work, I'm involved in a few clubs, mainly Engineers Without Borders, Pole Dancing Collective, Association of Mixed People at Tufts, Mechanical Engineering/ Human Factors Student Board. In my free time, I play video games, read, and crochet.

Describe your college experience
I came to Boston from Phoenix, and initially I was very homesick. However, Tufts does a really good job of providing support, and I very quickly found community and a really great group of friends who made me feel right at home.
Tip for future students
One of the best things you can do, in any circumstance where you want to be noticed is simply to show up. Being a constant and reliable presence is one of the most impactful actions you can take.
Favorite class
EN1 - Simple Robotics! It's one of the intro engineering classes and it was so fun! We got a box of Lego Technics at the beginning of the semester and we made robots the rest of the semester with those Legos and it was really fun and we made a bunch of really cool things.
Career goals
I want to work in prosthetics and orthotics after college.
Ideal way to spend a free night
When I have a free night, I either tuck in with a good book and a cozy mug of tea, or sit down with a game (right now, I'm playing my way through Witcher 3).
