Friendly theatre major who enjoys exploring and meeting new people!

Hi! I’m Sophia, a senior theatre major who loves this campus almost as much as I love performing! I am from Michigan, born and raised in a small town and knew very few people coming to MSU. The transition was a chaotic but wonderful experience and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Oftentimes I am in the auditorium basement working on my next performance piece or creating schedules and writing up plans for the RSO I am the Vice President of! You will also find me at the library and hiding away in the gardens reading or crocheting! I can’t wait to show you around campus to all the beautiful study spots and cool opportunities it has to offer! I’ve had a lot of interesting experiences during my time here so ask me anything!

Describe your college experience

I had a rough freshman year because I struggled to meet people for the first month or so, but once I found my people, I've had the most amazing time at MSU.

Tip for future students

I wish I knew how easy it is to make friends! I really isolated because I thought after the first week I had missed my opportunity, but there are so many chances to meet new people and I've made friends at every new event I've attended!

Favorite class

My favorite class was a course I took about Stephen Sondheim. It was so interesting to learn how involved he was in different aspects of theatre history and the evolution of musicals.

Career goals

Move to New York City and pursue acting!

Ideal way to spend a free night

Staying in and reading or catching up on work while watching a favorite show and ordering in food!

High school or secondary school

Clarkston High School

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is the alumni garden. It's such a relaxing place to get work done or just sit and read (it's under construction right now unfortunately.)
