Friendly public health major who loves trying new things.

Hey! I'm Mia, a freshman Public Health major who is interested in Political Science, Public Policy, Spanish, Education, and Art. I moved here from Boston, Massachusetts and have really felt like GW has become my second home. When I'm not studying, I like to spend my time collaging, working on my newest playlist, writing sketches for my comedy group, hanging out with my friends, and exploring DC. I especially like finding good places to eat (ask me for my recs) and visiting all the museums here. I love living in the city and would be so excited to show you around campus, share my thoughts on the college experience and answer any questions you might have!

Describe your college experience

Coming to college I was definitely nervous to be moving away from my home and friends, but once I started meeting people, joining clubs, and having classes, my experience improved a lot. I love to keep busy here and have found it super easy to become involved in a wide variety of activities here and there is always something to do.

Tip for future students

My tip would be to try new things! You never know what you are going to enjoy and just exploring things you are even a little bit interested in can be so much fun.

Favorite class

Media in a Free Society has been my favorite class because the professor makes every lecture engaging and the content is very politically relevant and interesting.

Career goals

After college, I want to do Teach For America and then pursue a graduate degree in education public policy or maybe go to law school. I want to become a education or health policy analyst.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is to get all my friends together and either do a movie/TV show watch party in one of the lounges or go and explore a new part of DC.

High school or secondary school

Newton South High School

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is either the rooftop of Mitchel or Elliot because of the amazing views of the Washington monument (especially at sunset)!
